Melinda was born and raised in Pictou and is running to give back to the rich tapestry of communities that make up her home.
Melinda spent 14 years studying, working and travelling abroad. She has a global perspective and is passionate about using this to problem solve and grow our community to its fullest potential. Melinda came back home in 2018 and began teaching at Pictou Landing First Nation School and involving herself in the community.
In 2020, Melinda was elected as a councillor for the town of Pictou. In this role, she has supported her community by organizing more town events and promoting lifelong learning opportunities for residents.
Melinda is running to be the next MLA of Pictou West to make sure the people can access health care when and where they need it, and to make sure residents and families can afford to keep living in our beautiful community.
